When we select brands and products for our showroom we always pursue quality first. Quality is timeless and that is across the board with all interiors products but so very important with bathroom items. Brassware, sanitary ware and tiles are all needed to create the perfect dream bathroom and to opt for lesser quality even on one element can detract from the overall look and even mar your experience if you run into problems down the line.
This is why as a company we love the Hansgrohe and AXOR brands. Hansgrohe is in many ways the brand which shaped modern showering as we know it and it's not just its innovative designs which we commend but the brands ethos and attitude toward environmental issues also, so we were thrilled when Hansgrohe UK invited a few of the Taylors Etc team to The Black Forest, Germany to experience all of the products and the brand first hand and what a wonderful setting it was with rolling hilltops, the Kinzig river and enchanting architecture we almost didn’t want to come home!
Of course the trip was peppered with gorgeous food, lovely hotels and even some traditional German bowling but it was the experience of the coveted shower world which we were most excited about! If you are reading this blog then you are likely to be considering home improvements, maybe a bathroom renovation or you know you want the Hansgrohe / AXOR brand and are reading up on it so imagine a place where you can try and test every product in reality. This is what shower world is, a place where you can test all of the showers and find your perfect partner.
In very British fashion we were all first reserved, after all unless you are actively part of a sports team when is the last time you would have had a communal shower?! But soon we forgot about what we were actually doing and were like kids in a sweet shop. A very watery sweet shop with multi spray patterns and robes.
Interestingly everyone had pre conceived ideas and preferences about their favourite product. A lot of those preconceived ideas were quite literally washed away during the test experience and favourites were soon replaced by products with more simple features than stand out design led looks based goods. A feature than won everyone over was the mono spray function. A setting which unless tried and tested can only be described as a tube of water. Ideal for injuries, or areas which you want to attack which high pressure, high volumes of water. Not only do Hansgrohe think of spray patterns which are expected within the realms of contemporary bathroom design but they are constantly developing new techniques and spray patterns to set them apart as a market leader.
There was however one overriding winning product that gave everyone shower head envy. We are sure a few vowed never to shower again unless it was under than head and that was the 1M X 1M flush to the ceiling rain maker head, complete with lighting, multiple spray patterns and our new fave, the mono spray! This particular product was not only a delight to shower under but was also so beautiful that it really got everyone to thinking how it could be used and in what design settings it would look best. Some thought over a recessed square tub, some were dreaming of huge marble clad wet rooms but the truth is with design this sleek it would work in any setting and we would challenge anyone not to fall in love.
The multi award winning brand works with high profile designers and collaborations include Patricia Urquiola, Phillippe Starck, Massaud, Nendo and Front. For a brand to have this much kudos in the design world surely they are doing something right and after shower world we spent time in the showroom looking at other Hansgrohe and AXOR products, some which we were fortunate to see being made in the factory earlier that day. It is not only thought provoking to see products from factory to finished article but it is also inspiring. It gives designers a new found respect for products and that was true for how we felt about the products after seeing the journey, from design, to manufacture to the showroom. Whilst shower world was a functional experience the showroom displays items in room settings to get an idea about the designers vision for the collections; we are not sure Jean Marie Massaud had this in mind when he designed this bath though…
What an amazing bath!
In all the trip was wonderfully wet, and we loved it! We would like to invite you, our discerning client to our Cardiff based showroom to try our working water display…Don’t worry you won’t need to strip down to your bikini, ours doesn’t allow for the fully submerged experience that shower world does however we understand that seeing in believing so we display various working Hansgrohe and AXOR products for you to learn more about the sprays, the features and benefits of such well designed and engineered products so you can make informed decisions about your new bathroom or en-suite.
Soon to be joining our working water display will be our favourite mono spray head, but until then dont delay a visit to our award winning showroom showcasing more of this wonderful European brand!
